Biography

This is Qing Nie. I earned my Ph.D. in Economics from Texas Tech University and joined the Economics Department at Bentley University in the summer of 2024.

My research focuses on Macroeconomics (especially monetary policy) and Energy Economics (especially oil market volatilities and comparison of oil markets in developed and developing countries). I have published in several journals, including the International Journal of Energy Economics and Policy, Asian Social Science, and Journal of Business & Social Science Review.

I have experience teaching in liberal arts college (Grinnell College) and universities (Bentley University and Texas Tech University) in various courses, 
e.g., Time Series Econometrics and Intermediate Macroeconomics, Macroeconomics Analysis, and Principles of Microeconomics. My past teaching experience enhanced my advising skills in both regular study and research projects.
