Biography
A Certified Public Accountant (MA) by profession, having originally qualified as a Chartered Accountant with Ernst & Young, his career has been in corporate roles as treasurer, controller and CFO, the latter since 1989. He also spent three years (2004-06) as a full time Finance faculty member at Bentley before being pulled back into a short-term CFO role for an international development project.
He was VP and CFO of a global paper company (Sappi) in the USA, Europe and South Africa for a major portion of his career (1988 to 2001), including participating in the listing of its shares on the NYSE.
He rejoined the Bentley Finance faculty in 2011. He led the initiative in 2019 to gain approval for a CFP Board Registered Financial Planning Concentration Program at Bentley and has been the Program Director since Fall 2019.
