And it will situate current activism within a historical context that provides background for newcomers to the subject. This volume offers chapters on focused key areas of Black activism centered on this era, roughly from 2010-2022. It describes some of the ways previous generations of activists are currently advising and influencing this generation, while showing the innovations in political approaches, leadership and organizational formations, and the use of social and other media for movement purposes. It also offers bibliography on Black activism for environmental justice, athlete anti-racist activism, and the role of the Black Church in this era.
