Effective Use of Information and Communication Technologies in Informal Learning Spaces

Research output: Chapter in Book/Report/Conference proceedingChapter

Abstract

The relevance of the university "computer lab" as a dedicated space for using computers to connect to the Internet, is declining. Often in an out-of-the-way location and configured with terminals facing the walls, or in rows facing forward, the university computer lab does not fill the same need as it did a quarter-century ago. Today's learners bring own devices, laptops, tablets, and smart phones, loaded with software and apps, required for their projects.
