Abstract
The processes of recall became more overt during the last seven decades, culminating in the current preeminence of meta-historical memory: the theatrical contrasting of the subjectivity, chiaroscuro and multi-faceted veracities of the memories of one epoch with those of a more contemporary time. This type of theater employs anachronisms, compressed time periods, specters and metatheater so as to underscore the continual reconstruction of Historical Memory, both on stage and beyond it.
