Abstract
How important is student-athlete recruiting to the success of a collegiate sports team? Empirical evidence is presented in which the conclusions are similar to the non-ice hockey sport literature. Specifically, we find statistical evidence that the more “elite” recruits a team is able to acquire, the larger the competitive on-ice advantage earned by the team.
